FULL IMMERSION FRIDAYS
Creating a supportive space where both tamariki and adults can grow their confidence in speaking te reo Māori. For one hour, we create an immersive environment where only te reo Māori is spoken.
Participants will take part in hands-on activities or everyday tasks, guided entirely in Māori by our fluent instructor. Along the way, you’ll learn useful phrases, deepen your understanding of the language, and explore the vocabulary connected to each activity.
Questions are welcomed, and both the tutor and fellow participants are there to support you with translations and gentle guidance. Mistakes are embraced as part of the learning process — our focus is on progress, not perfection. Come along, have fun, and strengthen your reo in a safe and encouraging space
HERE'S WHAT FULL IMMERSION CAN LOOK LIKE
Stations are led by KO members who teach in their own unique Cook Islands dialects — whether it’s Dr. Teina Rongo sharing in Rarotongan, Uncle Sunshine in Atiuan, Aunty Maria in Rakahangan or Nicolea in Maukean.
